Branding
April zero
April Zero is Anand Sharma's personal blog. It was started in 2006 as a way to talk about design and release a few tutorials.
It was a very active and popular site for a while, though has lately fallen into hiatus and hasn't been updated much.
April 2ero
Currently in the works is a brand new, blog-turned-magazine version of the site. It's currently in the concept stages and is due for release in mid-09.
The Colors
The colors for April Zero and its logo originally came from the navigation bar, which was composed of buttons of the primary colors. Ultimately the 4 color square became representative of the whole site, and evolved to 4 distinct categories.
In the new up and coming version of April Zero, the blue section is for technology & reviews, the red is media, green is for design and tutorials, and yellow is for general life.
Left: The 3rd revision of the logo.
The Site
06
One of April Zero's defining features, as well as its main topic, is design. It features photography, articles on web design, design drafts, behind the scenes and general diary posts.
05
Christmas ❄ Zero
In modified Christmas-themed version of the site, we replaced the original color scheme with green, red and snowflakes.
04
We added all the typical decorations like snowflakes, glowing lights and candy cane. This redesign reflects the overall sentiment that the site is all about playing with design.
