We've seen countless tutorials and knockoffs for the old Dragon Interactive navigation, but none of them quite get it right and most of them are way off—so we thought we'd set the record straight.

Our Solution

The technique is quite old now, but still as good and powerful as when we made it a few years ago.

The premise is that instead of just changing a background position on hover (as you would with CSS), an absolutely positioned cover is faded in and out which has the new hovering background image applied.
